UNHCR (General Assembly Committee)

UNHCR stands for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The goal of this committee is to protect individuals that are forced to flee their homes due to persecution or conflict. Throughout the world, refugees with disabilities receive inadequate and almost non-existent healthcare. Access to quality medicine is very limited within these vulnerable populations, making it even more difficult for those with disabilities. There are countries hosting displaced individuals currently have healthcare systems that are on the brink of collapsing. With an already limited amount of resources for healthcare, this further worsens the quality of healthcare that individuals with disabilities are able to receive. This committee must find a way to uplift all individuals- regardless of their health classification.
