Columbia Education Simulations (CESIMS), formerly known as Educational Simulations (ESims), was founded in 2012 as the philanthropic Model United Nations conference of Columbia International Relations Club and Association (CIRCA). Our mission is to increase access to Model UN and the critical skills developed during this activity for underprivileged schools and students in the New York City area. Since our inception, we have hosted several cost-free Model United Nations (MUN) conferences and sent many student instructors to schools in the New York City area. Dedicated to providing an educational and affordable Model UN learning experience for all of its students, CESIMS strives to maintain a high-quality conference and educational curriculum.

CESIMS hosts a one day-long Model UN conference on Columbia University's campus each semester. The conferences remains entirely free of charge to all students and delegations in order to ensure greater access to Model UN for students in the Tri-state area. Students will be assigned to committees proposed by Columbia’s Model UN team and will be tasked with representing their positions and advocating for those interests at the conference.

CESIMS’ educational initiative has two parts. We offer an educational program in which members of CIRCA visit schools to implement Model UN curricula geared towards our partner schools' needs. In addition, we also offer a one-day Model UN crash course, which is to facilitate schools that are interested in our vision, but cannot coordinate longer programs. Prior to every session, our Chief of Education meets with the advisor to identify the school’s needs.
